Thanks for the reply...

Sorry about not getting back to you folks sooner but for some reason I'm not getting the notices when people post. It could be my Junk Mail filter is the problem. I was pretty sure Julie would come up with something. I used to have that Earl's stuff set to a short cut on my desktop but since the last big rework on my computer I lost it. It might still be on the shop computer. I'll have to check.

I was just curious because my ultimate goal is to be equal to or less that the Super Coupe that my engine and drive train are from. On another board one poster seem to think the truck was much heavier and I was pretty sure it was lighter if anything. Of course adding the IRS from the Bird and having the 4WD Explorer chassis adds weight but I am pretty sure the engine and the aluminum tranny and transfer case are a lot lighter than the drive train that was originally in the '53. Thanks again.

Later Folks...

aerodynamics may not be a big deal to those of us with these clasic ol' beasts scott , but i dont think my 53 or the 52 are ever gonna get the 33.7 mpg highway mileage the bird does ........................ kinda nice every once in a while not to have to open the wallet wide to go chase parts or cars down !!!!!!!!!!

Well that prompts another question: how much does a cooler full of beer and some fried chicken and tater salad weigh?
