and i have heard it is better to use round pieces of plate for the sandwich mounts because they are less prone to breaking through the sheetmetal and spread the load better

Ya, so you can pull the body off the frame if need be, if that's the case, just make the plates bolt to the frame, might make getting it all in the cab a bit harder, but makes welding easier, because if done right, can drop the cade down a bit to weld the top and back of the joints.

Isn't it the safest to have the seats to the cage? I wasn't flippin out. If your going through thr trouble of puttin a cage in the cab, the interior is already stripped, so you have room to work without burning it up, why not put a couple extra bars in for the seats and belts. On I side note, is it really a good idea to piece together a cage with abunch of bends and strait tube? I'm thinkin there's better ways of going about it.
I just went the easy route for a regular 10 point cage and ordered it from s&w racecars. Comes as a complete kit all you need to do is final fit and weld.
