Save your money, the stock Motorcraft plugs work the best.

I hear ya bro. Ive built quite a few cars and bikes in my day and Im a little uneasy at the thought of giving my truck a tuneup after seeing how tight it is in there. Not to mention the ease of stripping the plugs on these trucks.

They're in there somewhere, just a little difficult to get to, a torque wrench and anti-sieze is a requirement if you want to change them a second time.

i did it !!!!!!

Aw shucks, that was no problem. Only took 2 hrs for the right bank, and the left bank was done in just over an hour. OMG
good thing that I have a huge assortment of extensions, angled, and articulated sockets, a bright light, and long fingers. Plus 3 beers to pass the time.
Jeez! can you say: "poor design"
the #4 cylinder COP was testing bad at 4000 ohms, and changed all plugs which were probably very old.
My TIP: Make sure tou have an ohmmerter or electrical multitester handy before you start this job. YOU WANT TO CHECH THE HEALTH OF THE COPS while changing plugs, because going in there twice would be a PITA. Haynes manual gives good description, and it only takes 10 seconds to confirm that you are not putting a bad coil back into the engine.
She's a lot smoother now.

Wow!! Why do people scare members on here about changing the spark plugs??? When I read my first thread I was a bit discouraged in even doing the job and honestly when I finally manned up and did it (replacing COPS as well), it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.

I don't own one of these and i have never changed the plugs on one, however I would guess that the reason members "scare" others is because if you are not careful your plug breaks off in the engine......i think you should have just said thank you to the members for making you aware of a potential issue....

No I'm not talking about potential problems, I'm referring to the labor to do the job. I remember reading somewhere and someone recommended removing the front wheels and lowering the truck on jackstands...wtf.

I use to help out more on all these forums......Most people don't know how to use these forums. i got kind of sick of it.......most people show up when they need help but then never do anything else........... ie.. I guess what I am saying is you probably should have posted what worked for you. How you did it etc. That way someone searching for help would know what to do..............just saying "it was not bad" is no help to anyone

I use to ask people to make a profile of their truck similar to mine with a location. That way the people trying to help the poster FOR FREE would have an easier time and the info would be better. I use to get people telling me to mind my own business. now I only help out if you have a good profile or if you create one after I asked you....
