Talking Passed Inspection!

Hey guys.

Today, May 13th, 2010. My 1985 Ford F-150 passed inspection. It was the last day my 3 day trip pass had, and the shop closed at 6:00pm. Driving right home from school, I crawled underneath the truck and redid my grounds for my back lights.

After tightening up all my connections and making sure everything was correct, I drove down to Sanders Auto.

5:10pm, I pulled into the garage and they started looking at my truck.

About twenty minutes later....

PASSED INSPECTION!

So! I hopped back in my truck, and drove her home. (Easily hit 75 mph going down the straight-away on my road)

I'll be babying her for a while, but she's finally legal. I'm going tomorrow and picking up my plates at the DMV plate office.

I'm just posting this to thank everyone that has helped me these last two months. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have gotten everything that I had done.

So, THANK YOU!

Congratz lol. Is there any reason why you dont put historic tags on your truck. I dont know about where you live but in maryland a car/truck 20 years or older can get historic tags and dont have to go to emmisions, inspections or anything of that nature.

I don't know what the rule is for North Carolina...

It would be cool to have antique tags on my truck, though.

Eh. At least she's got plates now.

Now I can drive her to the auto part store. :P Not borrow the Bronco.

I can be like that kid in the autozone commercial. Fix up a car all summer, then drive to the store to buy an air freshener.

Never any doubt about the inspection! Here in Texas we can get antique plates, but with those, the vehicle can only be driven to/in shows/parades/etc. IOW: vehicle can't be a daily-driver. I could get my original plate from '81, and the only one I can remember the numbers on, for an extra $30 on top of the regular registration fee.....every year.

Congrats man glad you got it all figured out.

I'm glad I don't have inspections here or mandatory insurance or I'd be riding my bicycle around.

In Wisconsin you can have collector plates at 20 years old, but you can't drive it in January or carry more than 500 pounds. Which I've carried way more than 500 pounds, as long as my bumpers aren't draggin' they don't care. All you need is a regular plated vehicle, which for another 10 bucks you can get the same number on there as your collector plates, so I never forget my plate number
