Ball Joint Question
I have a lower driver's side ball joint making a bit of noise (clunk) when I come to a stop. I'm 2 weeks away from having it worked on.
I'm worried about what might happen if it comes apart while driving, has anyone heard of a situation where this has happened.

No way to tell for sure without seeing just how worn it is but odds are if this is a semi recent development you will be fine. Are you sure it is the ball joint clunking and not the swaybar bushings? Can you feel it through the floorboards? If so it is probably the swaybar. Not that you should not replace the ball joints if worn.
