You don't have to remove it. You just have to remove the two bolts that hold it in place.
The hoses have enough flex that you can push it out of the way enough.
I completely removed mine, made it real easy. Plus I put all new hoses on the fpr and canister.
There have been people claim to do it with even loosening the canister, but its a small space so they must have little hands.
