Well it seemed like not many people can make it to the two dates so we are going to vote on every weekend from 5/28- 7/4.
We will go to Lake Bryan just outside of Bryan/ College Station. 8200 Sandy Point Rd - Google Maps
In the B/CS area there are good things to do for families. There is the George Bush presidental library on the campus of TAMU, there is a mud park called soggy bottoms ranch, Of course there is TAMU, Very good bars, Brazos Valley Children's Museum (interactive museum), On June 12th there is a thing called Starlight Music Festival. Hotel California an Eagles cover band will be playin that night. There is prolly more that I just cant think of.
The reason I pointed out Bryan was because if you look at the map the vast majority of the blue was in a triangle around Bryan. If anybody has any other ideals though shootem at us here.
Glad to see more dates... but we still can't commit to any of these this year. Maybe once something gets firmly planned, we'll lok at it again and try to make it.
For those that have never been to an event like this I strongly encourage you to consider attending - it can be a lot of fun! Speaking from the 2 Excursion Diversions that I attended in Gatlinburg, TN, it was a great & memorable time...
Once the date/location is firm, I would reconmend talking to local Ford Dealerships - you'd be surprised at the goodies they'll give for advertisement. Joe (X_Hemi_Guy) brought stuff all the way from IA and gave it out as 'grab bags' and we even had some 'Ford Triva' contests for the bigger prizes.
I'm not going to be down Austin's direction until October when our very own 13mwz is getting married. Until then it's just saving up for the trip..... I'll wait for the final decision and see if I can win the lottery between now and then cuz we're talking 8 hrs drive time for me.
Sounds good to me. Maybe Our leader can send out one more mass PM to let everyone know time to vote is about up. Then we can have a sign up session so we can tell where we are going about how many to expect.
The only thing, about sending anouther pm out, is I don't want to go over board with it. You know I fell like some members might just start thinking of it as spaming. You know what I mean. If they are always getting a mass pm they may just starting deleting them instead of reading it. My plan was to wait untill we had a decided date then shoot a pm out to tell everyone. At the same time have a rsvp thread going with a link to it in the Pm. What do you guys think? You think I should send out anouther pm or just wait.
