For the love of your bearings, get that Fram off of there NOW!
No but seriously, those things are built with terrible quality. The pleat consistency and the end-caps that hold them together are terrible. The end caps aren't even all metal, they are partial CARDBOARD!!!
Don't ever use Fram....especially on that work of art!
lol no those are canton valve covers they were supposed to be 3 1/2 inches tall but there almost 5 lol
When i was getting the oil filt i asked around a little and everyone was telling me that fram was the same as all the others just a cheaper name, so i picked it up because thats what the parts store had.
thank you though,
You can get a quality Motorcraft oil filter at Wal-Mart for about 3 and a half. That and Mobil 1 is about all I ever buy there. I like their 5 quart jug for $22.
That engine is sharp-looking. And the 4 link and rear end is sweet!
they had test results somewhere that showed how junk those frams are and i used 'em for years and changed . my 4.6 to what i have been told and now experienced is really touchy to filters . seems not only are frams junk they're drainback valve is crap and lets the oil in my mod drain into the pan really quickly and i essentially dry started the top end everytime !!!!! now it's wix or motrocraft . the flatty dont have one yet in bessie { got the oe stuff here to do it } and the 52 does have one on it's flatty . i'm hoping wix at least makes one for them !!!! p.s the truck is looking good but what's that camaro doing in there ????
