I have a 1990 Ford F150 302 fuel inj.and after it warms up it dies when I put it in reverse I cleaned the Intake Air Control Valve but it got better but it still dies in reverse can someone tell me if yours did the same and what was wrong with it.This problem is driving me grazy I even got a new Tps for it and installed it and still the same thing PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME
I am having the same problem with my truck and just found this info from another forum on this site from a Ford Trany engineer.
Possible causes: low fluid, loose/missing internal filter, worn pump or leaking internal seals.
Hope that helps you. It has given me some stuff to check.

yes I found out what it was so I pulled the trans pan and it was that the filter was laying in the bottom of the pan so I installed a new one and put new fluid in it and now it is perfect goes into reverse with out dieing and even shifts very smoth also so that is what is wrong with yours also
