Windsor vs Romeo

Was reading that Windsor and Romeo built engines had different valve covers, was this only for certain years? I have a 99 5.4 built in Windsor on 7-7-99 with an engine code 9G876BA and I only see one type of valve cover available. Is QVS50481R correct?

Punched my VIN into the decoder and my engine comes up as a 5.4 EFI-SOHC (W), the 8th digit is a L.

I'm starting to think the difference in the valve covers is with the earlier 4.6 engines.

Noticed the gasket says wo/grommets, do I need these grommets?

I just want to change my valve cover gaskets and make sure I have the correct ones before I have the covers pulled.

There are only 2 different 2V cam cover gaskets. Windsor, and Romeo.
Windsors are more "captive" than the Romeos, and tend to stay in the cover when it's removed. Much better than the Romeo version. Any particular reason you're changing the cam cover gaskets?

I have oil seeping up through the grommets so I had to change the cover gaskets also. Now that I have done one side I think I could have just did the grommets. I didn't know they came right out of the top.

Romeo engines use 11 bolts. Windsors use 13. All of the 5.4 2V engines that I have seen are Windsors. 4.6L are both.
