Recurrent HPOP problems

My brother in law has a 2005 f450 that has left him stranded for the third time in two years. The HPOP STC fitting failed and then it was replaced with the updated support and then it failed again a couple of months later. It failed again two days ago. It was repaired by different dealers on the last two failures.
What could be causing this to happen repeatedly. He runs a Banks tuner (I know it's not really a tuner) on the truck and the Banks intercooler. He tows a combined weight of 28500 regularly. Any ideas?

That would be one for cheezit to answer. Repeated failures are a little uncommon but not out of the question.

So the original STC failed, then it was replaced with the bracket update, and now that one has failed correct?

There is an update that supersedes the bracket update because the STC fitting is still used in the bracket update. The latest update completely removes the STC fitting and installs an o-ring boss fitting/jam nut fitting to the branch tube. The STC fitting with the bracket very well may have failed again, because there is still the "flexible" STC connection that was the root of the problem from the original design.

yes please clarify what revision of stc is in the truck. version 1 with no stc fitting was a knowen issue and a poor design.
revision 2 worked well and solved a lot of concerns but still had an issue from time to time.
revision 3 there have been a small nuber fail with in a few days of install wich leads me to belive that would be casued by misinstaltion or defect in manufacture. other wise they seem to hold up great as of right now.

I don't know what version of stc is used right now. It was repaired in mid 2008, and then failed again within 500 miles. The one that failed this time has lasted since then.
