My buddy has an 89 F150 with a straight 6. The back tank was removed and discarded. The front tank has two lines coming out of it. One runs from the tank to electric pump then filter then motor. The other one goes from tank to a different filter to back of motor. Is this correct? I dont think it matters but the black thing that controls switching the tanks is not hooked up anymore either. Let me know if this is correct or if we need to change something.

Reason: left something out
That thing on the back of the engine is the Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR).
He could have driveability problems if he is not using the black thing that controls switching.
He dos not need one that switches but he may need the reservoir type that is on the one tank F-series, Broncos & BIIs.
It could cause problems on hills and when going to WOT.
Sounds like they are ran right.
Should only have the one filter on the frame by the high pressure pump.
Yes WOT means Wide Open Throttle.
There should be two fuel lines (supply & return) and a vapor line for a sum of three going to the tank.
