Hey guys.
just wanted to say thanks for all the input on my other questions. a while back i had some tranny issues. all work out in the end. i also asked for opinions on swithing from EFI to carb, lots of interesting points and pro and cons.
i think im going to keep my 351 as an EFI unit. however im going to pick up a running 460 that has a big ole carb on it ! i think i got a deal. pulled and deliver for 200$.
i have a question, i belive i have a C6 tranny( still to confirm) my question is will my tranny bolt up? i have filtered thru some post about the 460 and found lots of specs on HP and grunt power but i cant seem to find what is compatable for a tranny.
can any one help?
thanks in advance
Jay
Potentially it could bolt up. If the C6 you have is a wide body C6, meaning its for a big block engine, then it will bolt up. But if its a narrow body C6, it was with a small block and will not fit your 460. Now if its a C4, it won't bolt up because I believe they were only available with Windsor engines. If its a narrow body C6, consider selling it. The right person will give you a decent chunk of change for it!
Aside from bell housing size, I don't know if there are any other physical differences to distinguish which engine your C6 will mate to, so I can't offer any help in that regard.
Dont you be forgetting Ryan, I called the one in the big ol car!!
I dont have a 460 tranny out, but I do have a small block AOD from the early nineties. I could snap a picture of the bolt pattern and you could compare it to your C-6, and then you could see if it was for a big or small block.
