Transmission question..

I have a 95 F150 Ext cab with 2WD and I once heard that silky smooth shifting can actually damage the transmission... is this true?

If it is true, what shift kit would you recommend to tighten up the shifts?

EDIT: its an auto tranny btw sorry i left that part out

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the general rule with slush boxes is that there is more slippage occuring with "smoother" shifting. Slippage results in more heat being generated and heat is one of the biggest enemies to automatic transmissions. And yes, a shift kit will generally tighten up the shifts.

Yeah the way i was told was that its the equivalent of slowly sliding into each gear in a stickshift which is no good lol

So you would recommend a shift kit? What would you suggest? I havent really looked into shift kits much

The last time I installed a shift kit on a slushbox was in 1998. It was a chebbie with a 4L60E. I used a kit made by B&M. It was a pretty straight forward install. Check out BMracing.com
