Want it now!

All, i just registered today and this is my first post. I am a long time f150 owner and am trading 2008 King Ranch for my first diesel 250... 2011 lariat loaded. I am told mine is scheduled for build 5/14... does anyone know if the part shortage is cleared and if built next week, when it would ship? I don't wait well... thanks. Oh... axle is 3 3 1... only towing toys

Fine choice. I also ordered one of those in a 350 on 4/26/10 and have yet to hear from anyone about a VIN or build date. I called the dealer and they had no further info except for "probably be two months". They are pretty quick to get that PO signed and a deposit, but it seems to be a one way street. When did you order yours?

It would be interesting to know the mpg difference with 3.31 rear end compared to 3.55:1.

Welcome. This will also be my first diesel F-250.
There are quite a few of us waiting so patience will be important.
I ordered 3/3 and am without a VIN so it's taking time to get these orders through the plant.

ordered mine about 2 1/2 weeks ago and dealer told me on Thursday that order was scheduled for late next week. He did say he has the VIN but I did not ask for it... I think I will now.

For a dealer to get a vin for a car or a truck if you a high volume dealer that sell a lot of truck you do get a higher priority and getting you deliveries so there are incentives to dealers that sell more volume so one dealer may get vin and production date faster

I ordered on 4/12 and got a VIN this week. Build date is 5/24 and delivery is within 2 weeks following. Kper, if you don't have a VIN yet, I'd say something is wrong. Better dig into it.

It was some 33.000 trucks in the orderbook at 27th April. It then had risen some 10% or 3000 the last two weeks.

Popular truck.

I ordered my F-350 on 3/29. I checked with my dealer late yesterday afternoon and I too still do not have a VIN. They did get in a 2011 ordered for a customer much earlier than mine on Friday. That makes a total of seven 2011s received at the dealership to date and they've got more on order. But it seems to take a long time for them to get here out on the west coast.

I wonder what the logic is for filling orders. I am sure there are varying priorities from dealer to dealer. Ford gives priority to fleet customers but then there must be a fancy algorithm for determining which dealer orders get filled in which order. It seems like my order was scheduled pretty quickly compared to others and my dealer is not a huge volume store. Hmmm....

And my dealer is a large volume truck dealer so maybe that doesn't mean much to the decision makers at KTP.
