Camera Wiring

Trying to hook up a reverse camera. I believe I'm suppose to be looking for a black and pink wire underneath the dash but have not been able to find it. Can anyone pin point me in the right direction? Where is this mystical wire? Also, confirm that the reverse lights are wired to the blank/pink wire.

Thanks in advance,

Alex

I hooked up my camera to a lighted switch on the dash, so I could control when it turned on. I also allowed the camera to be adjusted up and down to monitor my trailer when towing.

I have thought about doing this and I do plan to put it on its own power switch so I can turn it on as needed. Figured I could integrate it easily with my extra reverse lights. I just need to find the time to get around to some of this.

I plan on installing a separate switch eventually but I still need to order them, perhaps even a F650 lower dash. But at this point I just want to be able to find this wire. I've seached and searched (in the truck and on the internet) and can't seem to find info on its location.

Wiring diagrams let you know how its hooked up, but not the wire's physical location. Does any one know where the Digital Transmission Range (DTR) sensor is? Apparently the black/pink wire connects to that unit? If I find it, I hope to be able to trace it back to the cab.

Thanks again,

Alex

DTR in on the the drivers side of the transmission. Mounted to the same shaft as the Shift Cable.

The elusive black/pink wire goes from the shift selector switch through a the lowest (of three) connectors below the brake booster in the engine compartment. From there, it goes up to the trailer relay box (the small one attached to the main power distribution box) near the brake master cylinder.

It does not appear anywhere in the cab.
