I just bought a 69 f-250 that has some rust issues and i already have a 69 f-100 that has been handed down to me from my father. the f-100 is run down but is for the most part solid. what i'm wanting to do is take two trucks and make one by doing a frame off restoration of the latter. what i'm trying to find out is what actually is the vin registered to? the 250 is in my name already and the 100 isnt because i have to bring it to my state of Kentucky from Mississippi and in order to register a vehicle in Kentucky it has to pass inspection. i'm probably going to use the frame from one and mix and match to make a good solid truck. thank you for you info.

Use the vin from whichever frame you use since one is a 250 and the other is a 100. If you put the F100 vin on a cab and it is on a F250 frame it could raise some questions. If possible use the drivers door from the cab that was originally on the frame you use so you won't have to change data plates from one door to the other.
thats what i was looking for. i havent got a good look at the f100 frame yet since its in MS. are the frames alot different? i mean i know the rear end is heavier on the 250. both trucks had originally came with the 360.
