My transmission is being weird. It's a Jasper with 30K on it. I'll be accelerating nice and easy and it'll get to the point where it's gonna shift into 4th/OD, but it get's stuck there... almost like I've got ALOT of throttle in it. But here's the funny thing: when it's at that point where it won't shift, the RPM's will vary as much as 500RPM's and I get on and off the pedal to try to get it to shift. I don't know if I have the original torque converter, or a "new" one that came with my Jasper. So, with that being said, what do you guys thing? I've got have a mind to call either John Wood or Brian... I bet they'd know. Any thoughts guys?
I haven't heard too many who were happy with their Jasper. Perhaps Mark K will stop by and tell you what the issue might be, but unless you're going to fix it yourself, I'm not sure knowing the exact cause will be of much use.
If you look at a map, Brian is much closer to you.
After my nice long haul (a 3hr, 3000lb haul up and down the mountains), I haven't had any problems. I think it might've just been a side affect of it sitting during my rear-end job. It's kinda like the trip cleaned it out really good... I also blew an O-ring in my HPOP as well so, I was obviously pushing it pretty hard. I had the cruise set to 70mph and it held it with no problem... all through the mountains, it held it. I do have the older Superchips Max Micro Tuner on it... I know it's not the best, but the tow tune is pretty nice. It beats stock anyways... a DP-Tuner is definitely on the wish list for sure!
