I used my A/C on my 04 f 150 for the first time this year today, and it seems cold but not really blowing out of the vents strong. The blower sounds like its blowing at different speeds but not coming out of the vents much different at each speed. Does anyone know what could be causing this, would the cabin air filter cause this???
I bet your right because the blower is working . Is this something that i can fix? I suppose it could unstick itself????If it is diverter is it anyone know how to fix it??
make sure a shopping bag or something hasnt been sucked up into the recirculation door opening under the dash if you are noticing this with MAX AC or recirc on. Seen it a gazillion times. Bags, napkins, papers from the glove box, etc

Great suggestion - after checking for obstruction, place register selector on 'all dash', set fan speed on 'High' and feel for air flow from floor and defrost registers to see if blender door is stuck between settings. There's usually a little 'bleed' from the other registers esp. at high air flow, but it should be minor. Turn fan to lowest speed and operate the selector to listen for noises as the door moves to different positions. I've had a situation before on a Cherokee where insulation got into the fan area and restricted air flow. It's not unheard of that bird, animal or insect has made a nest in there somewhere either. I don't know if a 2004 Ford has this but some vehicles with electronic HVAC controls have a method of recalibrating the air blend positions by manipulating the controls a certain way.
I have the exact same issue .... blows cold but I have to block the passenger vents just to get decent air flow on me... I live in Phoenix and drive around dripping sweat all summer in this POS...
mine is also doing this. the other day i stopped at the auto parts store and when i came out jumped in my truck and ac was not blowing. i hit the black plastic you can see hanging down under the glove box and it came on. it did it twice that day never had a problem before.then noticed it does not blow as hard but sounds like its. when i hit the plastic behind the glove box i can feel the air change speed out of the vents. a fer minuites later i could hear rattling inside the box and it starts blowing hard. i never hit the blower motor just the black box behind the glove box. and the blower never seemed to change in sound .
I searched this thread (and others on this site) to find an answer for my '06 Expedition XLT (not climate controlled). Fan control and temp control worked perfectly, but regardless of where I set the register all I got was defrost.
Although I didn't find the answer to my particular problem I did solve it myself. For anyone else with a similar problem I'm happy to share what I did to temporarily bypass the actuator until I can replace it.
Unfortunately I can't post pics here so if someone would be kind enough to IM me I'll email you a pic, then you can post.
Just another suggestion I thought of. I have had several F150 upper plenum failures. The problem was that the vent doors could not move because the foam seals on them came loose from the door. The sticky backed seal then lodges between the door and the upper plenum. You can purchase just the upper section of the plenum to repair this, or if you are inclined, you can take it all apart and reglue the foam pads back onto the doors. In either situation you will need to remove the instrument panel for access and pull the plenum.
Hey badfl97 did you ever figure out what was causing the 2004 f-150
To blow cold air but not hard enough to cool the cab..Im having
The same issue my ac comes out cold but you can berly feel it.
If I swap over to defrost it comes out the top with little pressure floor works too with low pressure blower
Works in every speed just can't get it to blow hard
Thanks HomerWinzlow. Probably saved me a couple hundred $$. It was exactly what you said, a plastic trash bag got sucked up.

Ok I realize this is not the year of truck i'm looking for but having a hard time finding anything on this subject. Here goes.
91 F150 5.0 302 long bed dual tank, blah blah blah... the blower motor does not really get proper voltage I guess. Changed out the motor AND resistor, no change. Fan barely spins. There are 4 speed settings. Lo, lo Med, Med Hi, and Hi. When switched to high it seems to go to Lo. Again, brand new blower motor and resistor, no change. I can put the old **** right back in and get same results. The entire housing for the HVAC controls have been rebuilt twice I.E. the vac lines housing, I guess what I'm asking is, am I missing a relay or ground issue somewhere? Or is the switch just screwed? If so, Is there a mod kit that can be retro fitted to make this work as it should? Fan speed is just weak AF.
