The Lima 2.3 was used in a variety of vehicles. The 2.3 in the Tempo/Topaz it not the same engine, as it has rocker arms, OHV, rather than camshaft, OHC, operated valves.
The Mustang II and the Pinto were the first to use the 2.3 in the 1974 model year. Other vehicles I can think of include Fairmont/Zephyr, Capri, Bobcat, and Mazda B2300.
The Ranger used the 2.3[and 2.0] until it was replace by the 2.5, which has a longer stroke.
The last Lima was replaced by the DOHC 2.3 in the middle of 2001, I believe.
