2000 excursion elec issue

2000 excursion elec issue

rear brake and directional lights working - no rear running lights or licence plate lights -- cannot figure this out- any help willl be appreciated

Sounds like a blown fuse to me! Check the fuse panel located directly below the steering wheel to the left, you will need to look at owner's manual to determine the location of the exact fuse. (Sometimes, it's not right either) If it is blown, replace with a fuse of the same size, don't put a bigger fuse in it's place. If you don't find a blown fuse there, there is another fuse box located in the engine compartment but I think those lighting fuses only dealing the trailer connections.

Keep in mind, a fuse usually blows for a reason to indicate there is some kind of problem such as a short or overload condition. If you install a new fuse and it blows again, you will need to find out what the problem is.

Smile elec issue

Thanks to all who replied- fuses were the issue- peeled all wire wrap covering and found a broke wire - solder and shrink wrapped --all is good !!!
