I have a few questions about DP Tuners, My truck is a 2000 f350 7.3 with automatic trans 4x4. 4 inch turboback, 6637, I am interested in getting better mileage only. I am not interested in racing at all . I tow a 7000 lb boat to the keys once a year. I have owned the truck since brand new. I live in Fla .
1) would I have to do anything to the tranny--135,000 miles
2) do I have to get more guages
3) what type of mileage increase could I expect, I drive conservatively
4) Can it damage my truck in anyway
5) How long would it take to install
6) Which one do you reccomend.

1) would I have to do anything to the tranny--135,000 miles. It would be a good idea to get a BTS-VB or JW-VB to help with shifting.
2) do I have to get more guages. As long as you have EGT, BOOST, TRANS TEMP you will be good.
3) what type of mileage increase could I expect, I drive conservatively. Don't expect much in MPG increase for a while, but if you drive like you say, you should get a little better.
4) Can it damage my truck in anyway. You can damage your truck without a chip. As long as you stay on top of things, you should not hurt a thing.
5) How long would it take to install. Here is a LINK on the install.
6) Which one do you reccomend. DP-TUNER.
Thanks for any advice Ron
I have my DP-TUNER for towing, but the play factor is a by-product of my towing ability.
Rick has you set up with some solid answers. Follow his advice and you are good to go. My truck is set up to tow and be reliable as well, but a good tuner (like the DP) gives you a big smile factor that you will tend to forget to lay off the right hand skinny pedal for the sake of fuel mileage.
