what should I do with my project
I have a 1976 f250 highboy that I just got from a friend and intended to just use it for the body, as I already have a 72 frame with app 10" lift installed. Originally I was intending to use the body from a 71 2wd i had and put it on my 72 frame but it wasn't in as nice of shape as I thought ( bondo'd up and missing a lot of stuff), so now I have a pretty nice frame that's all painted up with lift installed ( minus wiring and brake lines) and I don't know if I should just swap the 76 body ( its a complete truck) and all the wiring, brake lines, tranny etc, over to the lifted frame and combine the two or strip down the 72 frame and build the 76 the same way using the lift springs and custom drop spring hangers, custom shock mounts etc also I would have to build a new front spring hanger cause the one on the 72 frame is welded on.
thanks for any advice
Ill try and post pics soon
The wheelbases are different, the '76 being a few inches longer. Ive read of people swapping a bumpside cab and bed onto a dentside frame, but there's a 2" or so gap between the cab and the bed.
The other way the rear wheels will not be centered in the wheelwells and it will likely look like something is "off".
