Hi yall found the right section ok... quick question for all the v10 owners I was thinking of lifting my truck 4 or 6 '' cant decide... if I stay with the stock tires will the lift alone hurt my fuel economy and what if i later decided to run 33'' tires lets say with 18'' wheels, right now I have the 235x85x16 stock wheels and tires, also plan on puting a slide in camper need advice whats the largest tire diameter I should run that wont hurt my mpg too much, also can any of you please post some pics with your v10 lifted thanx.
2002 ford f250 v10, auto, 3:73, supercab, shortbox, need advice?
I put an extra leaf in the front and went with 295's the front rubs a little on the mud flaps but thats it. If you want to go to 305's or 315s I would get a leveling kit for the front and you should not have a problem. Keep in mind that I have a F350 so it is a little higher in the back end. Fuel milage!! Who cares if your going to lift your truck!!! HA
i have a 3/4 ton v10 and i put a 6" lift under it with leaves all around... i had to get the deisel kit and i think that makes it sit a lil bit higher in the front because the v10 is not quite as heavy... i also put 35" MTZ on and i love them! everything looks great on the truck! i did notice a lil bit of power loss but i expected that. also my mileage is staying around 14 or with the anhydrous tanks i had on there all spring i was gettin 10 to even 9... still... i believe it was WELL worth it. go to my page and look at some pics you might like it
Here is my F350 leveled front and an add a leaf in the rear on 35s on 17s here, got them pretty worn out for free to see if I want 35s, but running 285s now, still getting 11.5 mpgs around town, if I keep my foot out of it. Honestly did not see a noticable differance in mpgs between the 35s and 285s (3.73 gears) a little power loss. I will probably go 33s or 305s when its time for new tires. My brother in law has 315s stuffed under his with no lft at all, they rub the springs just before full lock.
