ok so I hooked up to a trailer with a short blew out my fuses replaced said fuses and now my running lights stay on. I have to pull the fuse to shut them off, I am not sure where or what to look at can any one help?

Without knowing which fuses you replaced or have to pull to shut off the trailer running lights:
Have you checked the plug on the back of your truck to make sure each pin is doing what it should? I would start there and work my way forward if the trailer plug is not acting right and work my way back if it is.
I am thinking the problem is with the trailer since it had a short to start with. You wouldn't believe some of the messes I've had to fix on other people's trailers!
