06 250 question and advice
Just picked up an 06' 250 diesel, my first real truck. I had a few questions and welcome any advice or tips.
I got the oil changed and transmission flushed right away, should I also get the rear end flushed also?
I know there are many expensive problems with the 6.0l so Im looking into a extended warrantys.
I had a Kenwood touch screen with a backup cam in my last car and want to get the same or something close for this, I know the 08's have a back up cam for the tailgate handle, is there one for the 06 ?
The bed is all scratched up which doesnt really bother me but where the paint is missing i can see some rust so I thought a spray on bedliner would be worth it. A rhyno liner was $450 or a place that we deal with at work will do one for $125, not sure which should get.
Also is a remote start a good idea with a diesel due to the glow plugs, any thoughts?

How many miles? If the miles are high, or you think it has seen any deep water change the rear end fluid also. Clean that rust up first and prime it, i would go rhino, not the cheap stuff. Not sure on the remote start never had one on a diesel. Not sure on the cam, do a search you will find something. Congrats on the new ride!

The '08+ tailgate will fit the older Super Duty trucks with just minor modifications. There was a thread here recently where someone did the conversion and took detailed pictures.
Yes, differential fluid should be changed. Most of us follow the severe duty cycle and change out the fluids at 30k or so. Don't forget friction modifier in the rear if you have LS.
Remote starters on diesels use a delay option that most remote starters have. When you press the button the ignition will turn on but the actual cranking is delayed while the glow plugs have a chance to warm up the combustion chamber.
