Not much done today

Got the front and back springs on my son's old 52 F1 frame today but busted my thumb open and should probable get stitches but just taped it up and went on and finished the springs. Next will be the engine and transmittion. Those reverse springs are a pain in the a-- to line up with the pens and had to cut out about 1/2" off of the front back bracket to get them to fit right and have some play for movement.

Yes. If you are North American or European, the left hand thumb is P/N #5. And the right hand thumb is P/N #6. If you are Middle Eastern or Asian, the left hand thumb is P/N #6 and the right hand thumb is P/N #5. If you are from West Virginia and do not work in the coal or logging industry (still have the OEM configuration), the left hand thumb is P/N # 15 (or P/N #7 if you own shoes) and right hand thumb is P/N 16 (or P/N #8 with the shoes on).

Bill - do you concur?

Doesn't matter. When you are looking down (at your feet) and counting you either have 10 things down there to count or two things.

Half sizes are a GM product anyway.

I've found that motor oil, grease, and dirt help the healing process.

You might check the OSI catalog to make sure your part numbers are current. They can be superceded frequently. And I believe you'll see a difference for body style, too, X or Y. ;-)

Hmm, not really gettin' that. I guess you didn';t figure out I was talking about counting your fingers. From left to right (how we read European style) or right to left (ancient cultures), Then counting your toes...Shoes on-the shoe is the one thing to count and not your five toes. Counting your toes - too deep I guess.

So what were you thinking from that? X or Y/ Oh I get it - no I wasn't going there but I was wondering if rbig1 (WOW- name) was going to expand.

Sorry, just my lame attempt at humor. I was referencing the Ford OSI catalog (obsolete-supercede-interchange) that informs the parts department folks about part number changes in the Service Parts system. This being a Ford forum, you can never be sure what's right today will be the same tomorrow. ;-) They sent those out several times a year. Ask Number Dummy Bill about that.
