Well, I posted a new topic in here a couple weeks ago, but now I can't find it. The topic of that one was regarding the inability to lock out the overdrive on my 2004 F350 automatic V10.
Some of you responded to that original thread and advised me to open up the steering column and look for a wire with the insulation worn off.
Tonight I finally got around to trying to do that. So here is my current problem: how do I get the top of the steering column cover off over the key? The bottom is off, the top is very loose, but I can't see what I need to see until the top cover of the steering column comes off completely.
It looks like I need to remove the ignition lock assembly. How do I do that.
If you have the bottom of the column cover off, look up under where the key cylinder is. You'll see a hole with what looks like a ball bearing inside it. Turn the key to "ON" and use a screw driver to push up on the bb while pulling the key out. Once the key cylinder slides out the top half of the column cover should come off.

Chris,
Thanks for your help. Once the steering column covers came off the problem, the overdrive lockout switch was unplugged, was readily apparent and easily fixed. You saved me many dollars in repairs costs. Thank you very much.
