i just got back into town from visiting my family. some (insert bad name here) smashed my driver side window to steal my outdated GPS. didnt even take the bag of loose change i was going to deposit, or the full pack of camel lights.
Some people are too damn lazy to get up and get a job so that's what happens. That's one reason I love it up here in the middle of nowhere, SD. In my little town that stuff never happens.
Sorry to hear, glad they didn't take your truck though!!
the town iam in is like mayberry, didnt expect it to happen here either. if my whole truck had gotten stolen, i would have gone nuts! makes me want to send in my chip to have no start added
sorry to hear that... luckily I havn't had problems. When I bought my house there were a bunch of break-ins. People would knock in the front door, deadbolt and all, in the middle of the afternoon. Some guys boat got stolen right out from his driveway by a guy who told the neighbor he was the guys brother.
my friends 68 cutlass got broken into a few years ago. they cut the convertable top, then broke the window. doors unlocked of corse. now that iam putting in a glass, it gives me a chance to move my selector **** to the window switch panel.
There is a new generation of evil and lazy people. Instead of just being slowly molded into worthless they are being raised from little things to think that they are entitled to stuff without putting in the blood and sweat to earn it. Our society sure as hell ain't fixin it either. I guess they have to fullfill that sense of entitlement on days other than the 1st and 15th by tapping into our hard earned source of belongings. A few weeks ago some POS slim jimmed by buddies Power Ranger to get his radio and took his brand new AR and Savage 17 HMR from behind the seat. Did it in his driveway while he was inside for just a few hours. Handslap to him for leaving arms in the vehicle but tall tree and short rope for those who stole it. Same thing, Mayberry style small town. Everyone knows everyone.(and what's in their vehicles evidently) Friendly, safe, and secure...then drugs moved to town. Time to park the soapbox for now, I'm getting PO'd. Good OT thread though.
Slim jim assumed. Probably a hanger. But yeah the rock makes it even worse. You should tell the police, that way you can waste a ton of your time for them to do nothing. Too bad you weren't able to catch em doing it. As written in Texas law, our trucks are an extension of our estates and by our God given 2nd ammendment we may PROTECT our families and estates by means up to and including lethal force. No second chance for those dirtbags. As far as I'm concerned, their chance was when they saw your truck. Right then they had the CHANCE to not break into it and still chose to do so. Out back we go buddy. Take away the second chance from a few and the rest most likely won't need a warning. Untie the hands of our lawmen and scare these A-holes into thinking twice before they steal from a country boy.
There's that damn soap box again. Extreme, maybe. Tired of evil prevailing with no repercussions, absolutely. My kids are supposed to grow up thinking that fear of men is normal and acceptable? I don't think so.
i didnt even bother calling the cops, waste of time. i just covered up my window and opened a beer. I would love the chance to catch one in the act. i would be "lights out" before he even saw me. But that'll never happen, iam not lucky enough. I had the chance once when i was still living in new orleans, but with the cops there, i woulda gone to jail and got lost in the system, so i ended up just getting my stuff back and everything he had on him and let him think he was lucky to leave alive.
Sorry to hear it, but you really should call the cops and file a report. You can do it over the phone without them coming out. There's a good chance that several vehicles in your area were hit the same night. If they catch the idiot, the more thefts they have on file for that night, the more they'll try and throw at him.
Same thing happened to me plus 7 others in Charlotte, NC at a very hotel. Knocked out the passenger side window of my 91 Olds 98. To take a cheap GPS. Police where there and took a report, after a few emails nothing. Covered the opening with plastic to keep some AC inside. After 2hrs of deafening noise I tore the plastic out. A few days later found a door glass in Pick N Safe yard. Just glad it wasn't my truck.
True, but at this point all the evidence is gone, unless It's Still in his possession
Most of the time these guys will just plea bargain so they don't necessarily need hard evidence, just need to be able to say we got you for XX burglaries.
Our superior, high IQ's, nose's stuck up in the air, righteous know it all's, paid off by lobbyist, who thinks their God's (Kings & Queens), senators and congressmen are talking about dropping unemployment benefits. When that happens, look out. As they say, you haven't seen nothing yet!!
