engine missing
ok guys here it is i got a 91 351w 4x4 5spd with just 81k on it. i have changed the cap rotor button plugs and wires for a new set. and new fuel filter. the truck starts good and when i try to give it gas it seems to miss really bad and idles bad then all of the sudden it just runs right. i am thinking it's the tfi, pip or the icm that is what i thinking just give me some ideas if you can

Did it miss before the new plugs, cap, rotor, wires, button? Anyway, if it didn't miss before, its very possible you have two wires crossed, so even if you swear you did it right, check that very carefully. Its a place to start. Also, did you put the filter in so it flows in the correct direction (there is an arrow indicating the proper direction of installation on the filter body, arrow points toward engine)? I know when I kinked a fuel line (restricted fuel flow) my truck ran fine at idle and low rpm, but fell on its face and missed like hell when rev'd at all, maybe a fuel filter installed backwards could have a similar effect.

well i checked that yesterday and all the plugs are in the right spots and same for the fuel filter. i went ahead and unplugged the fuel pressure reg and the map sensor throttle positions sensor and the tfi on the dist. and even checked the pcm while i was at it. i dont know what i did during all that but it seems to have fixed it for now. so that tells me that one of the things i unplugged is goign bad just hasn't went all the way out yet. oh as for the vacum lines the only thing i have on the truck is the egr and the fuel reg
