PLEASE HELP!!! CHECK INSIDE.

new to the forum i have a 2000 navigator
heres the problems

1. the blower motor blows out of the defrost position, at random times when the truck isnt even on and just sitting in the driveway

2. when put into gear (not in park) the wiper fluid light and the 4x4 light blink and make the turn signal noise and the radio turns off. but when put back into park it stops and the radio turns back on.

please help this is my girls truck we just got it not even 2 months ago and i dont want something to happen to the truck already.

thank you!!

Sounds like you have the windshield leak that's getting your GEM and fuse block wet. This is somewhat common. Do you see signs of water on the floor of the drivers side when it rains ?

The first thing you need to do is stop the leak in the windshield (an auto glass shop could help you there). If you are lucky the issues will stop. Otherwise the gem and fuse block will nee to be checked for corrosion and possibly replaced.

what is the gem?

and it sounds like the problems because it has a competition stereo of 6 15" subs walled in the back so im thinking that may have flexed that windshield loose.

the windshield has a crack so i got my glass guys comin to the shop tomorrow to put a new one in ill make sure they put it in extra tight.

ya it hasnt been doing it now since the last it rained was saturday and sunday morning is when it was doing it.

thank you very much for your help!!!

The gem stands for the generic electronics module. This module controls the functions for your body electronics. If you replace it it needs to be programed for your vehicle as it depends on the options you have as to how it is programed.
