Glow plug out

My Banks is telling me that my #8 glow plug is out. How difficult is this to fix and how important is it that it gets fixed ASAP?

Hi konadog. Welcome to FTE.

If your truck starts OK, it isn't a huge issue. From your alias I can guess you're in Hawaii somewhere, so you probably don't see much sub-freezing weather.

What engine do you have?

I actually started my truck without turning the glow plugs on, just put the key in and fired it up. It was in the 30's or low 40's, and the truck took 10 seconds or so to fire, then finally fired right up. I stepped out of the truck to lock the house up and get my thermos of coffee, and then thought "Crap! I didn't wait for the plug light to go off!". Didn't hurt anything, and at least I can feel safe in knowing that I only had the truck a week or so and was not used to a diesel, but still not a good practice.

Thanks for the welcome and replies. Im actually in So.Cal and Konas my dog. Anyways... I was wondering if its a must fix like right away or if it could go for a while. It runs fine and the weather is not cold here by any means. How about replacement of the plugs? I cant find a "how to" on here for the 6.0, 2005 PSD.
