wierd one??

I HATE This damm ford. the cooling system on this truck is just pissin me off. I have put a new water pump, t stat 160 degree, head gasket, hoses, belts, heater core, new rad, coolant, everything new. Aftermarket summit gauges. okay 1st the truck runs hott like 225 230 it slowly works its way up. and when it gets to 225 i shut it off and can here it sizzle in the rad and it spits out into the overflow. It completely filled the stock overflow and a half gallon jug. What is this thing doing?? the water pump is spinning the right way, i already made that mistake and corrected it. timing is advanced a good bit maybe timing?? i thought retarded timing would run hot? spark plugs are black so i dont believe its running lean. Im stumped, do not know where to go with this.

Now heres the weird part. all of this happens when its sitting in my driveway idleing on a very slight incline. In the garage where its level it didnt do it

Too much advance will build heat. Take 5 degrees out of the timing and see what happens.

My best guess would be an air bubble in the cooling system.

Mechanical thermometer is reading 230F?

Two tests.

1. Remove the thermostat and reseal the housing. If it runs cooler the thermostat is bad.
2. with the engine cool on an incline apply a vaccum to the overflow line with a piece of saran wrap over the radiator caps hole. Look for air bubbles to pop up.

You either have a cruddy thermostat or air in the head.
