My jeep. I have a 2000 Grand Cherokee in addition to my old ford, and it's been pissing me off lately with drivetrain problems every time I take it out off of the highway, it's always something, and I haven't been hard on it.
Well, I've put enough money into it, so now I'm looking to trade it in.
How is the reliability on the 97-03 fords? Anything to stay away from or look out for?
I don't know enough about that year span as I haven't owned one, but I know my uncle has a 99 4.6 with somewhere around 250k on it and still runs like a top. I'm a bit harder on things than he is, though.
FORD, nuff said..........LOL just messin My opinion is the 5.4 motor is the best, i had a 2000 with no problems to speak of regular maintinace and such. I think they fixed the spark plug blow out problem on the 02's and after but don't quote me on that. I have an 02 super crew FX4 now and like the heck out of it so far. No problems to speak of yet. 77000 miles. Hope this helps a little maybe someone else will chime in
I have a '98 F-150 4x4, 4.6, auto, with over 200K on it.
Only typical replacements: tires, brakes, shocks, battery, alternator, starter, tune up parts, fluids & filters.
No complaints, very good truck for a daily driver.
