Has anyone tried the water filters sold at Menards or Home Depot to try to eliminate the hard water spots, if so what type of filter should I look for? Thanks in advance!
I haven't tried any other than the MrClean one. However, if it's like what I am thinking of, then they will not help much. The kind I have in mind are not much more than simple paper filters. The elements(minerals) that make up a lot of hard water run through paper filters and laugh at you. My reading say you have to have a resin that the minerals bond to or cause the minerals to fall from suspension in the water.
Not sure how you can remedy the hard water part but as for the spots on your paint guys used this Clay Bar on the vehicle. I never seen it but I assume its like a bar of soap type rubbing compound, heard good things about it, wished it was around here. Hope this helps with the waterspot removal.
That is my current solution, only problem is the clay bar strips off all of the wax. So after washing and claying, you have rewax it. Clay bar kits have become very popular, check out your local auto parts stores (Advanced in particular I know carries them). They are available from Turtle wax, Mothers, and Meguires.
