bring it on!! Ill take that in ohio too. It'll give me ppl to pull out and extra money snowblowing it. Plus i want my new front leaf leveling kit somehow, hahah
Finished planting soybeans this evening and have corn spikes about 1 inch high. Snow like that in Northeast Iowa would cause the grain market to go bonkers which in turn would allow me to sell the rest of last years crop at an exorbitant price, thus allowing me to spend more money on my pickup.
As much as people hate snow and wouldnt wanna c it right now, it would help everyone out. All i want is one more big snow and then bring on the summer.
As Matt said, 80+ here, had a week or two of 90's already. Flipflops and shorts have been the wardrobe of choice since March. Pool at the country club opened last week, and is booked with birthday parties on the weekends from now till Labor Day. Shoot, my bald head has already burned and peeled, and now has a base tan. I am a southern boy and dont do snow well.
Dang right, 82 vtommorrow...i left New Hampshire just because of that crap...i hated it up there...worst 5 years of my life...for the life of me i can't figure out why anybody would CHOOSE to live up there full-time...that snow's pretty for about 5 minutes...then the salt trucks, the plows, and the shovels turn it all a very nice shade of sh&T brown...lol...
we had it snowing all day yesterday, not as much as you got, but was sure wet snow.
Nothing like trying to get my house painted since I sold it in a day adn close soon. what timing, but snow is Always welcome.
I have lived here for 10 years and I have seen it fall every month of the year, but two (July and Aug) but that don't mean is hasn't. old timers have seen snow on the 4th of July years ago.
Always get an April snow storm that can get pretty bad and dump, but nothing as heavy as we've got lately. 2 weeks ago we got about 14 inches at the house and it was extremely heavy and wet. Fell straight down. Within 3 days it was completely melted off. Yesterday, we got another 14 to 16 inches of the wet stuff, but this time the wind was blowing about 30 mph. NASTY, NASTY around here. Roads closed, power lines snapped, no power. Probably be gone by the end of the weekend too!
Our winter has been a funny one as well. The oldtimers say it's similar to the way it used to be. Usually our snow doesn't come until late November or early Dec and the last snow storm we get is in April. This year though, it started in early October and is still going. It's been a long winter!!
