I need an interior color code for a 65 model truck that is caribbean turquiose. I know that the dash had the same color as the exterior but the steering column and steering wheel had a more muted color and was an interior color that was probably used on some ford cars as well as trucks. I need a code so I can have some mixed or if anyone knows of a vendor with spray cans already mixed that would be good too. I have tried the Mustang people and they have sent me some samples of the aqua color used in the Mustangs on 65 and 66 but their turquiose favors the blue. the Caribbean turquiose favors the green more.
I think your color, Michelle is the same as is on the Slick pictures on the front of Dennis Carpenter's latest online catalog.
It is indeed a beautiful color.

Dearborn Classics (dearbornclassics.com) has interior paint in spray cans.
But, the FoMoCo COLOR codes are not listed, so the colors may not be the same.
Ford in many cases used different COLOR codes for passenger cars than trucks...for the same dang colors used in the same dang year!
EXTERIOR B = 1965/66 F Series Trucks: Caribbean Turquoise, Ford part number AE60-556
EXTERIOR B = 1967 F Series Trucks is not the same: Frost Turquoise, Ford part number AE601734

Michelle, I have a unrestored 1965 Fseries and when I checked the column color compared to exterior and interior I first thought you were correct as had not noticed a diff before. But turns out its just 45+ yrs old and faded different from rest of interior. Once I took a bit of compound to it its the same as rest. Its possible it could have had a touch of flat agent in it to take away some luster. same color tho.
If you are set at having it look different from rest just add a touch of flattening agent to the color.

Michelle, I just looked to see what ORIGINAL FoMoCo paint I have on hand and actually found a unopened quart that color. Can says Designed especially for Interior Upholstery, Soft Trim Interior, Appointments (could be it) Head Linings, Convertible and vinyl tops, floor mats.
Not really sure what appointments means but could be steering wheel/column. (Rotunda from way back when).
Its still plenty liquid and never opened and not sure If I dare until I would use it.
Another idea is you can take your column or part to the local paint shop and they should be able to mix you an exact match. Thats what I do if I cannot quite get the color on my own.
Thanks for the input. I think I have just about decided to go back with the original color of red and white. Finding the right shade of turquoise is getting to be a chore.
These are the color seat skins I was going to reskin my seats with. My big Slick is Caribbean turquoise and it has the same color seat belts as the car in the picture and they are a perfect match.
These are the original seats. They are in good shape with little to no wear, the sun has turned the red way to dark.
The color codes are:
1965 F Red, G Black, H Palomino
1966 T Black, U Parchment, V Red
The Rangers only came in the Custom Cab format. The Ranger package was one option and the center console was another option, not all Rangers had the consoles. The consoles were the same as the Falcom Futura and the Sprints as far as looks. The botton of the consoles were cut different to fit the truck floors. The truck consoles had a couple of different cuts along the bottom to fit the different transmission humps. Some of the early 65s had the same console lid as the Comets.
For 1965 the Ranger package cost 120.40 The console was an extra 34.80 bringing the total cost of the Ranger package with the console to 155.20.
For 1966 the Ranger package cost 97.00 and the console was 57.50 bringing the total to 154.50.
It is strange how the cost of the individual options varied so much in price between the two years but yet the total price for the two was with in .70 cents of each other for the two years. I got these prices out of the 1965 and 66 Prices and Specifications book.
I too have seen a few of these trucks when they were new, but not that many as they were far and few between. I was in college when the 65 came out. My dad was working for a heavy Ford truck dealer in Austin Texas at the time. I not only fell in love with the Ranger at the time but also the beautifully styled N series Ford trucks of the era. The sales manager at the dealership, Johnny Clark had one of the first Rangers that hit the dealership as his personal truck. He let me drive the truck on more than one occasion. I noticed that the lid on the console was the same lid as used on the Comets, all the others I saw had the Falcon lid on them. I had asked him about that and he said that first one to come into the dealership which was his truck had that lid, he went on the say that was the only one that came in that way and all the others had the Falcon lid.
I agree that most did come with the console, but I have seen a two or three that did not have it. My truck was one of them. When I got the truck I at first thought that someone had removed the console but then I checked a little closer I found that it never had one. I had an extra Comet console from a 64 I once owned and I cut the bottom down to fit the floor of the truck and am using it.
In 1965. while you were in college, I was a Ford partsman at Stockton Quincy Ford in Westwood (West LA) CA.
In March of 1965, I bought a new '65 Standard Cab 8' bed Styleside pickup with the 352, radio, deluxe heater, overdrive, Western Jr. Swing Lok mirrors. I added a step bumper, padded dash and aftermarket A/C, and a camper shell I found on the used car lot...someone had bought a used '64 pickup and didn't want it, so they took it off.
When I did a frame off resto 1981/83, I bored the 352 to 390 specs, installed the 390 crank, pistons and rods, installed a genuine Ford A/C, and replaced 100's of parts with Genuine Ford parts when I could find them. I also converted the Standard Cab to a Custom Cab, and ditched the camper shell.
It took two years to find a NOS '65 anodized grille. While on a road trip looking for NOS parts, a pal of mine found one at a funeral home in Alabama.
In November 2009, I sold the truck to a collector in Sweden.
btw...Even been to Matador TX? The Ford dealer shut down in the 1960's, left all the parts there, all the promo models were in glass cases in the showroom.
It was like a time capsule when I discovered the place in 1985. The dealership, town...the whole tamale is owned by the Matador Ranch.
I was on a NOS parts scrounging trip, but they wouldn't sell anything. I had much better luck at the Ford dealers in Floydada and Paducah.
