C6 stalls when put in gear

C6 stalls when put in gear
351 windsor with the c6 tranny and edelbrock 1406 electric choke carb. when i start it it idles fine and warms up the choke doesnt open all the way so i need to fix that some how but when i put it in gear it stalls but sometimes i can keep it up(haha). I dont know if theres a separate adjustment for that or what but i need help!

It's not a tranny problem, it's an engine problem. Disconnect the vacuum line on the dist and plug it. Reset the idle, and with the vacuum line still disconnected and plugged, see if the problem goes away.

Just throwing this out there, but check your plugs and plug wires as well. I had a problem with stalling in gear and overall poor performance until I put new plugs and wires in. My old wires had deteriorated to the point that it'd either stall in gear unless I kept my foot in it, or if it stayed running, it loped badly (shook the whole truck) and misfired. Once I put in the new plugs and wires, it ran 100% better.
And mine ran decent at idle as well. Nowhere near as well as it does now though.
