uhm idk about the one in the manifold because its cast iron... but i dont see any reason y u cant find a nut that the egr tube will screw into and weld that on....
welding cast iron to steel isn't the greatest idea... might hold for a little while. I'd go to the parts store or a exhaust shop and get a steel bung to weld into the header that is the same size... then just swap over the egr
cast sucks to weld unless you have a great welder and know what your doing... Just get a bung or find something with the same threads made from steel... I hate those stock cast exhaust manifolds... great idea replacing them!
yeah a buddy of mine had a old 70s model ford truck with a 351 that had headers on it so i am going to get all the rust off and put the high temp paint on them and bolt them up
yeah i have seen the bolt trick before. if you are replacing the headers and have a a welder available i'd get a nut or bung but that's just me... wait a 70's you say... wouldn't that be a 351m and not a 351w???? if so do 351m headers fit a 351w heads??? don't know myself...
he said it was a windsor but it may have been a 302 in it honestly i saw the motor it is a windsor but i dont think he knew the exact size of the motor
Get ourself a another EGR tube form a scrapyard vehicle(and I believe the tubes for all the vehicles of this vintage use the same fittings too) and then just cut the female end off it and weld it on the header.. that's what I did with the old set I had.
