Ok i spend most of my time in the 87-96 truck part, but tomorrow im going to go look at a 83 ranger so i can put my f-150 out for some repairs. anything i should look for i don't really care about the body as long as it aint falling off. but mainly the engine and trans is a 4 cyl 4spd 2wd. as far as i know it runs good drives good, but I've never dealt with a carb'd motor so new experience. thanks in advance.

Is it a 2.3 or a 2.0 4 cyl?...............2.0 is painfully slow, 2.3 makes decent power. The 4 spd trans is pretty bulletproof...... Watch out..........those old Rangers get under your skin!, they are really tough old trucks, built like a full-size truck, not a small truck.
