I have a 2001 F-250 powerstroke 7.3 that has been leaking a little oil since it was new it collects around the turbo and its hoses, its also all over the intake and down on the starter & torque converter/flywheel inspection plate. does anyone know what it might be?
How much oil does it leak? Step one is always to clean things up so you can start paying attention to things. In addition to what's mentioned above, check the hose clamps on the orange rubber boots. If loose, they can leak an oil vapor that will condense and cause a small drip.
Your boots will be covered in sludge, but as you start cleaning you'll find them. Some simple green, low pressure water, and a little elbow grease does wonders. After it's cleaned up a bit, it will be easier to pinpoint the source of the leak.
its been leaking since it was new and been working on getting my grandpa to let me work on it more so now i can do repairs he doesnt want to pay dealers for. is water the best way to clean or should i use something with it like a concentrated degreaser with it. been leaking slowly since new and now the valley, the turbo y pipes, etc are covered in oil. i'll try to get pics up soon and it only has 96k miles.

Yes, degreaser such as Simple Green will work. Spray it on from the bottle, let it set a few mins, spray off with garden hose. You may have to do this a few times to get all the gunk off. You can use a brush on the caked on stuff. Once you get where you can see, drive it a while then look on top with a flashlight to find the leak.
