does it have a fuel filter in the tank? I bought truck dead got it running. But went to give it throttle and it died. I put new spin on filter on. I put five gallons in barely covers the bottom of tank. I wonder if i just need to add more fuel.
Gas or diesel?I have a 1998 F700 which runs excellent untill it hits a 1/4 tank,it has no power and will barely idle.I put more fuel in to get it above 1/4and it runs excellent again.I assume its the sock or something wrong in the tank. You might have the same type of problem.I have driven the truck 1000's of miles like this.
My '91 only has screens on the pickup which is on the fuel pump. The fuel pump is located in the tank and it ran bad below 1/4 tank. I had to replace it because there are silicon type seals in the pump that went bad and it couldn't keep the pressure up enough. Seems like once you get below the seals it is sucking air instead of fuel?
stupid question its a ford right but u said it has a 5.9L cummins something might have gone wrong with the motor swap cause from wat i know and im a diesel major in college the only time ford is going with cummins is in the mid 2010 and 2011 models. Although i might be wrong but im pretty sure something went wrong in the motor swap or its just a run of bad diesel or theres something internally wrong with the motor
older ford heavy duty's had, cummins, detroits, and cats in them. We had an old one with a detroit and I never had seen something eat fuel like that before. Thought it was a gasser.
it's a 1998 f800 low pro. I got it going i put some more gas in and fixed a leaking bleeder bolt on the fuel filter. But now i notice a few injectors are leaking. Need to replace their seals.
Just on another not i heard that over seas like in south america Brazil. Superduties came with cummins engines in them straight from ford.

The 5.9 and 8.3L Cummins engines became the stock diesel engines in F-Series trucks in the mid-late 90's replacing the Ford FTO engines.
