my c6 tranny started giving me problems after i got into some really deep water. i got stuck in about 4 feet of water for about 30 minutes the next day i drained the transfer case and it was full of water. I pulled the tranny pan and there was no water in there so i replaced the fluid and it still does not want to go very fast. it shifts into the gears but i can only go about 30 mph.....it tacks out at about 30mph. does anyone know if i need a tranny or could this be something simple? thanks
it doesnt matter if i put it in low range or high or two wheel drive it does the same. do you think it might be a bad trensfer case? if so how could i check it to see if it is bad without spending much money?
I dint even consider the transfer case being locked in. I dropped it and took it apart and saw that there was a thin peice of metel im thinkin they call it the slinger???? but anyways it was melted into the main shaft right against the gear that holds the chain it was not letting the transfer case come out of low range. but i could shift it to 2wd and it still would do the same thing. so i got on craigslist found me a 1356 borg warner transfer case bolted to a np-435 tranny. i seperated them put the new transfer case in and now she runs great!. now i just have to sell this np-435 tranny setting here in the back of my truck......
