Question vehicle setting over winter

i've got a 302 EFI in a grand marquis that is parked over the winter. i try to run it at least once a month. total it may be sitting for 6 or 7 months. will leaving it sit over winter do any harm? any concerns i should have when it comes time to using it again? i've come to like the EFI 302 motor. seems durable. i'd like to stretch the motor's life as long as i can. it has 152,000 miles on it.

had my '86 pickup parked for just over a year, but it was due for an overhaul and i wasn't too concerned with it sitting.

sorry if this isn't truck related enough. info for the engine is all i'm looking for, not the car.

I would be more concerned with the gas going bad than anything else, toss in some of the gas treatment( I cannot remember the name of the product.....), it keeps gas from going stale.....

I would definitely put some fuel stabilizer in the gas (then run it for a couple minutes to circulate it through the system), and I would spray some Deep Creep (fogging oil) into the intake (engine running, spray till it stalls out, then you're done) to keep the pistons and the cylinders from siezing or corroding. If anyone thinks this will mess up any sensors on an EFI vehicle I wouldn't do it. I don't think it would hurt anything though, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Then next spring, I would change the oil and drive it around a good ways to get all the fluids circulated and warm to get any condensation build up to evaporate.

Depending on how long it sits, you might also consider covering the air duct going to the air filter, and the exhaust to keep stuff out.

The previous posts are correct. Fuel stabil. is a good idea. Instead of spraying the oil into the intake, pull the plugs, squirt some engine oil into the cyls. and reinstall plugs.
