ABS light came on while driving. About 5 minutes later noticed difference in steering. Investigated and found heated brakes driver front. Limped home 8 miles and hard braking at stop sign and truck veered to passenger side.
Now parking in driveway with much rain and I go out of town for 4 days.
Do I need ABS code reader or is this a sign of a failed abs sensor causing brakes to be applied?
I'd be willing to wager the left front hub bearing. If its worn enough, the pads could be dragging and wearing more (the heat you feel). When you hammered the brakes, the right side gripped harder and it pulled that way. Do what Robin suggested and see if that tire wiggles. Grab it at the bottom and see if you can lift it up any. A bad bearing could cause the sensor to loose the input from the tone wheel in the front, which could cause your abs light.
