Thanks Brandon and Dan.

Just now finished dinner and got online. Spent the day putting in new rockers, pedestals, push rods and injectors. Hope to finish tomorrow and get her rollin'.

Learned a whole lot of new stuff today.

Brandon I'd take those test strips and the color chart if you still have it. PM me if you do.

I dunno how I missed this thread Robin. You did a really good job. Excellent write-up my friend.

I checked out the Ford website after reading the above quoted portion of your post, wondering what Ford said about seating the new cups. They don't use that bridge you show. Instead, when it comes to seating the new cups, Ford instructs to "Seat the fuel injector sleeve in the fuel injector bore, using a rubber mallet."

A rubber mallet! LOL...just give it a swift whack!

Maybe that's why the one you have pictured above has a slight bulge to it!

Here are the instructions from the Ford site:

Installation
  1. NOTE: Do not apply Threadlock® 620 or equivalent to angled areas.
Position the fuel injector sleeve onto the Injector Sleeve Replacer. Apply Threadlock® 620 or equivalent to the very bottom (smallest diameter) and very top (largest diameter) flat areas.
    1. Position the fuel injector sleeve into the cylinder head fuel injector bore. Seat the fuel injector sleeve in the fuel injector bore, using a rubber mallet. Remove Injector Sleeve Replacer tool from the cylinder head fuel injector bore.
      1. Clean the fuel injector sleeve and bore, using the fuel injector sleeve brush. Remove any sealant residue from the fuel injector bore.
        1. Install new O-rings on the fuel injector. Lubricate the fuel injector and O-rings liberally with clean engine oil.

        Thanks for the thought Stewart.

I have a 2000-2002 Ford Service Info DVD I got from Clay when I ordered the cups. The rubber mallet inference cracked me up. You'd never get the cups below the oil rail port let alone the fuel rail port if you beat on them for a week with a rubber mallet. Hell, you'd wear out the mallet first.

I realize that this is an old post, but the Ford instructions are correct. If you read it too fast, you may have missed this part "Position the fuel injector sleeve onto the Injector Sleeve Replacer". The mallet hits the end of the tool ( Injector Sleeve Replacer", and the sound will change when it is fully seated.
