I have an 06 F350 Diesel with about 200,000 mile on it. Was driving it the other day, stopped at a red light it wouldn't go. Sifted it through the gears.... nothing. Shut it off, started it away it went. Everytime I came to a light same thing till finally the tranny quit all together. At shop now, but anyone have any ideas????
Is your tow/haul light blinking? If so you have a trouble code for your transmission. Without knowing what that is I doubt anyone's gonna be able to come up with an educated guess.
Has the transmission been serviced every 30,000 miles?
I have very similiar issue, except I was driving, acted like it was shifted to neutral...coasted to a stop. No gears worked, checked fluid, crawled underneath for leaks - none. let it sit for a few minutes and was able to drive about a mile and coasted to the last stop, would go no further, even after cool down. No real warning previously.
nope most shops locally to me dont want to mess with a 5r110w torqshift. they have a great rep for being a hoss tranny and a bad rep for bing hard to rebuild or so im told
update on 4R4100: 3 hours after tow, reverse, drive, 2 & 1 all work. No abnormal noises. What is going on? Anyone ever ran across this?
No offense, but I think you need to start your own thread.
This one is about a 5R110 problem and you have a 4R100.
They share nothing in common as far as I know.
