I need to replace exhaust manifolds on 1988 f150 4x4 with a 4.9 how hard is that to do on this truck
well what i know is that the bolts are just going to be real tighten so what i recommend is to spray some WD-40 to loosen them up a little bit, and then just go ahead, you going to need to drop the exhaust so you can take off the manifold. So it can be hard just depends how tight the bolts are
If you're going to remove the INTAKE manifold, you'll need to remove the upper to remove the lower.
If you're going to remove the EXHAUST manifolds, you shouldn't have to mess with the upper intake.
As for nighthawks advice, he's on the right track, but WD40 is NOT a penetrating oil it is just a spray lubricant. Penetrating oil would be better- liquid wrench is good and so is justice brothers.
