This is out of my Chilton Manual Sam, so here goes:
1. Drain the cooling system to a level below the heater core.
2. Disconnect the coolant hoses at the heater core tubes.
3. Remove the glove compartment.
4. Disconnect the temperature and function cables.
5. From inside the passenger's compartment, remove the 7 screws that secure the heater core access cover to the plenum chamber. Remove the cover.
6. Remove the heater core.
7. Installation is reverse of removal.
I dont know if thats what your looking for and forgive me if you already knew that. Just tryin to help a brother out.
Sam, replacing the heater core on these trucks is SUPER easy. Don't drain the radiator, just pull the lines off and block them.....but you already did that. Pull the glove box and you will see the screws in there you need to remove to get at it. It's a no brainer for sure.
When I went to colorado to buy Rockee, we popped the heater core 70 miles from nowhere. We capped the line and kept running, while running down the road, my cousin had the heater core out in 20 min with a screw driver and a mini adjustable wrench....driving down the road!!!!!
It's easy man, just pull the glove box, few screws and your home free.
Hey Sam, no problem. Glad we could help out. Dont use my write up though. Do it Codys way. You can one up him if you change it out while YOU are driving the truck. Long as you dont crash. haha. just kidding. I dont recommend that.
