Trouble Codes

Hey all,

I had my 98 ranger in storage for 2 years. Now, its back up and running. Recently the CEL came on. It showed P1131 Fuel Air Metering. What should I be looking for? I can pull the battery lead and it comes back on within hours. Its the 4.0 liter engine.
Thanks
KEn

P1131 is a Ford specific
DTC.
Lack of heated 02 sensor switch

Here is a related thread

It is a different truck, but items to check will be similar.
Start with the O2 sensor then check for damaged or leaking hoses or fittings.

Additionally, it's the up stream bank 1 (passenger side) O2 sensor & it's indicating lean.

Could be an exhaust leak, lower intake manafold gasket leak, acting out O2 sensor, or maybe a wiring problem to it.

Seeing as how it's been in storage for a while, maybe do an intake manafold leak check & if you come to suspect it, maybe consider trying a retorquing of it's fastners.

Check the bank one exhaust manafold & down pipe to the O2 sensor for leaks also.

Let us know what you find.
